Module Eleven Introduction & Overview

Welcome to Module Eleven

Staying with the theme of comparing means, the one-way ANOVA (stands for:  AN alysis   O f   VA riance )  is the hypothesis test we use when we want to compare means between  3 or more different groups. It is  similar to  the  independent samples t-test in the sense that it compares  means between different groups, but different in how many groups it  compares.  Suppose you wanted to compare the average scores on a self-efficacy test between  4 different middle schools in a school district , you would use a one-way ANOVA. I hope you are comfortable with the rhythm  of working through the  Laerd  Statistics guide in the SPSS lab and applying the skills you learn in the lab in the homework  by now,  but please reach out if there is any confusion in this process.
